Les Boeufs de Géryon

‘Taken from the 12 labours of Hercules, this episode tells the story of Geryon, assumed to be the strongest being in the world, with his three heads, six hands and three busts joined at the waist. He owned a huge herd of magnificent oxen guarded by Orthros, a two-headed dog, and a seven-headed dragon Eurythion . Calculating the number of heads – the three of Geryon, the two of the dog and the seven of Eurythion the dragon – we come up with 12… 12 heads, including that of Hercules, for 12 singers and their leader! Between shouts, gasps and barks, a sonic atmosphere is created, carried by strange sounds coming from the piano, for a playful, mysterious and ‘archaic’ piece.’ Zad Moultaka
