musical tales

Chânaï is a village in Mount Lebanon. The so-called madman is actually a naive wise person who multiplies funny, ingenious or absurd stories. Always charged with a poetic or philosophical dimension, his popular tales are widespread in the East and the Middle East. Inspired by the famous Nasreddine Hodja that goes from the Balkans to Mongolia, performing his adventures in dozens of languages, from Serbo-Croatian to Persian, including Turkish, Arabic, Greek, Russian and many more… Whether our character prefers the moon to the stupid sun that lights us up in foolish daylight, or whether he rubs his buttocks with hot pepper to catch up with his donkey. The scenic objects of a multi colored decor, inspired by Arabic and Persian miniatures, appear in an organic way as if by magic. Three characters, sometimes actors, sometimes musicians: Chânaï, Tamerlan and an innkeeper take us on a hilarious show for future adults and old children.
