Sisyphe

Presentation
Sisyphe is the last part of a triptych of which the first two are Déluge, created at the Domaine de Kerguéhennec and Ejecta for the reopening of the Sursock Museum in Beirut. If Deluge evokes the invasion of the world by the images and the noise of our world and Ejecta, a volcanic eruption of artworks having been buried in the explosion of August 4 in the port of Beirut, Sisyphe closes the work in merging the first two. The vertiginous fall of the tens of thousands of images for Déluge are countered by the upward movement of those of Ejecta, creating a gripping struggle between the movement of these two forces. The voices of the soloists come to support a relentless and fragile presence, that of Sisyphe, ours, underlining the infinite fight inherent in the human condition.
