Hanbleceya

HANBLECEYA

20′ – 2012
for ensemble

The Hanbleceya (imploring the dream) is a very ancient ascetic initiation rite, one of the most important in Lakota culture. The universe created by the dances, the climate, the energy preside over the writing of this piece, without ever approaching it in an illustrative way , by near or by far. The Amerindian influence, as a quest for a modified state of consciousness, is an aspiration to an inner elsewhere. Here, the journey, the path, even the physical violence, is the way to access an “other vision” – where the suffering of the body and the death open onto a new space.
