Death is an end only if the deceased does not find the “exit to the day” during his initiatory journey. This ritual, described in the Book for the Day best described as The Egyptian Book of the Dead, comes directly from the union of Isis and Osiris. Horus, son of Osiris, Hamset and Hapi deny the death of the god of the Nile, ruffle their hair, beat their thighs, clap their hands in front of the dismembered body. Carried to the “lake of life” Osiris takes the form of a jackal and devours his brother Seth. Perfumed by Isis, Osiris resumes its form and mates with its sister, symbolizing the permanent renewal of nature, death (winter, flood, drought) generating life, the “exit to the day”. A consanguineous, cyclic and perpetual love.
