Première Nuit du Temps

PREMIÈRE NUIT DU TEMPS

12′ – 2018

for eight singers, fixed sounds and projection

For the Planetarium of the Palais de la découverte, Zad Moultaka conceives two astral modules. One evokes the empirical knowledge and the cosmological imagination of the Sumerians, the other recreates a sky seeming to come from the First Night of Time. From the rippling of the water to the rustle of the wind, to the chirping of birds or the cries of animals, singers scattered among the public echo these natural forces. Completed by an electroacoustic device, this sound experience deploys its celestial resonances through a play of shadow projections animated by the performers. The planetarium vault thus takes on the appearance of a cave, whose moving figures recall a primordial scene, a “matri-ciel” song, on the borders of our humanity.
