Quatre chants de guerre

QUATRE CHANTS DE GUERRE

11′ – 2000

version for contralto or soprano and piano

These four melodies, written in November 2000, put to music extracts from poems by the Lebanese poet Nadia Tueini.
These pieces come from the tradition of French melody and contain, in places, transformed elements from Lebanese folklore.
The sounds obtained inside the piano using a mallet and a wooden rod, recall some percussion accompanying the village dances.
