GLAZ

March 26 – May 28, 2023
painting acrylic on paper

‘French-Lebanese artist Zad Moultaka built in Kerguéhennec, right in the middle of the fields and bad weather, a gigantic strip of paper measuring 10m by 5m. Remembering the original Mesopotamian Flood, Moultaka celebrates the reign of water, where the earth would sink gently into the tinkling of things. In order to drown this image of the annihilation of humanity under transparency and color, seeking to become rain and wind, the artist worked his painting of the abyss not with watercolor but with the water, covering all trace of the flooded soil of this indefinable terracotta color of the Glaz, once blue, green and gray, that the sea takes on at high tide.’
