Oro Tenebris

The artwork transforms.
Its path is unpredictable and riddled with thousands of bifurcations. To follow it is to drop the burden of what we think we are, of what we think ourselves to be, and to lose ourselves. It is a path from which we will not come out intact, as something that happens deep within transforms us. Such is the creation of each move that kneads us, each stumble that makes and shapes us under the flame of a mysterious desire. The more we shrink our willpower the more we stoke its fires: hence, unexpected forms and colors can reveal themselves to us in bright or dark clarity. Painting is learning to let that je ne sais quoi emerge, which no one could have imagined before its very emergence, how much its appearance alone makes sense.

Oro Tenebris – I pray the darkness – acts as a quest for the inner space of a dormant spirituality.

A moment in retrospect.
The choice was made to think of this exhibition not as a homogeneous series of chosen artworks, but as a creative crossing, or journey, that unfolded between April 25 and June 20, 2024. Zad Moultaka
